Tiny, tiny chip on power window switch

Hi all- in the scheme of things this is quite minor. I wound up getting a small chip at the edge of the power window switch on the driver's door. I asked if this could be warranty (I thought 98% the answer would be no) and it's not a warranty item. OK- no problem- didn't hurt to ask. The dealer said that they could replace the entire switch unit, which of course works just fine. I don't feel like spending $200 on the new switch when the existing switch works quite well.

So, I initially took a black Sharpie, and with a little dab, covered the chip (the chip is the size of a quarter grain of rice- it's really small). But the Sharpie fix isn't actually good.

I've seen little covers on eBay that are supposed to fit over power window switches, but some have noted they barely fit and are crap. So, if anyone ever encountered this admittedly minor issue and found a satisfying solution can you place share your solution? Much thanks-

I understand chip to be on single switch and not switch block. Feeling ambitious, search 2129056000, 2129054107, 2129056100, and 2129054007 for used sacrificial part in an attempt to open switch block and replace switch “i.e.”: https://www.ebay.com/itm/MB-E-class-...wAAOSwq9RbyuLv BTW if you decide to replace complete switch block intact, compatible #s are 212905600 & 2129054107.

So are you talking about paint chipping off the buttons like this? It bugs me too.

I have thought of taking these pictures to a vinyl graphics / sign company and have them produce very small vinyl wraps to paste on the buttons. All to match the symbols, colour and sheen.

I have no idea how much the graphics and art work would cost.

The door lock button panel can be found brand new for around $25, FWIW.

Edit: Apparently those window switches were used in Chryslers for a while too. Anyone know if they're cheaper and/or compatible?
