E200 2.0Diesel Auto W212 Service Query
Hi
The above car has 200,000km, I have always serviced it doing engine oil, air filter, oil filter, pollen filter, fuel filter etc. Car drives extremely well and has been ultra reliable. Only other job I have had to do is water pump and new fan belt. However I would appreciate some advice on a few queries:
1. Car has a small shudder at idle until it comes up to temperature (90degrees)
2. Is there an engine breather that is recommended to change as part of servicing
3. Does this engine have a timing chain that requires changing at a set interval or only if there is a problem - is there a way of testing / inspecting the chain?
4. Do you recommend changing transmission oil and filter. This has never been done. Is it supposed to be sealed for life unit?

This has to be one of those OM651 engines who never made it to America?
So unless you give us more info what exactly you have, we can only guess and I rather have the info, than read crystal ball.
