Question Leaking Fuel from sender unit

I recently bought a used 2010 E63, and after about a month of having the car, I have been smelling fuel. So I removed my back seats, and noticed fuel leaking from my driver side fuel sender unit.
The fuel is leaking out of the plug where the fuel pressure sensor would be. but my car doesn't have one.... nor is there an electronic plug for one. is that supposed to be plugged up? I can't figure out why it wasn't leaking a few weeks ago with nothing in there.... or did something pop out....
does anyone have any insight? I am wondering if its ok to just plug it up?
