Hello guys,
I ride for 5 years W124(1991) and like E Class too much, then I replace it with W220 (S320) car which full option which move me to another type of ridding but bad sides of this car were fuel consumption around 11 to 12 L/100KM in combined and critical issues of Airmatic suspensions, so I am thinking to replace it with W212 E300 or E350 2011 or 2012, so I like this car too much the design and interior which share many designs options from S class and C class.
Guys do you advice me to get E Class again and which your prefer E350 or E300, what is the difference between 2011 and 2012 which both of them are preface lift? another important questions that I read at wikipedia E class fuel consumptios less than 7L/100KM and E350 or E300 5to6L/100KM in combined status, are that numbers correct ? is there any common issues in this model to check it before buying? please advice.

You have more engine choices than I do in USA and different emission requirements, so unless you find somebody who drives model from you destination area, we can only offer generic advise.
What is the E300 engine and what kind of driving you compare for fuel economy? In US we do have 350 choice and that's all in V6 gassers. No major difference between 2011 and 2012 as facelift happen in 2014, but again, that might be different on your market. .
My E250 Bluetec average 5.6l/100 km, while my trips average 125 kph.

No idea what they did in your country, but from 2010-2011 in the US, the E350 had the M272 engine which was 268hp. They went with the direct injection M276 engine in 2012-2016. Horsepower was also up to 302hp and I believe gas mileage was also better due to the direct injection. From 2010-2013, the styling was the same but of course there were minor changes in things like the front driving lights. We also had the E550 but that's not popular in other countries due to slightly worse gas mileage and other countries tend to tax a bigger engine more. That was only around til 2014 in the US.

Just use the EPA numbers from the US if you want the specific gas mileage for a particular model. The 4matic models had slightly worse gas mileage than the regular rwd models.

As for common problems, read the messages in this forum, there's a bunch that pop up all the time. Some of them are based on mileage, what's the mileage of the you're thinking of buying?
Basics would be faded wood trim, ripped MB-tex seat, motor mounts/transmission mount, axle seal, etc. Some are specific to the M272 like the thermostat, idler pulleys/tensioner, intake manifold, etc. And then some of it is standard stuff like the suspension, struts/springs etc, but those are more maintenance items. In your situation, I'd go for the 2012, better gas mileage more power although the spark plugs are harder to change, but you probably won't get the intake manifold problem that the M272 has, but that doesn't kick in til about 100k miles or more, sometimes less.

Thanks a lot for your info and I will start search for 2012 model with low mileage to get it.Originally Posted by cetialpha5
