Sunroof problem

So I have gotten a new problem with my W212 sunroof

The problem is that after trying to open it, it stopped midway and won’t close again. I can hear the motor spinning when I press the butten but the glass won’t budge. I looked online, found the thing you can screw for manual closing but it won’t close even then. While trying to press the close butten at the same time as looking at that screw it is moving meaning everything seems to work but it’s not moving the glass

any help would be great

Sounds like cable is busted . If the manual turn wont move it then its the only thing it can be . I would check the videos out on youtube on moon roof or sun roof repairs

hi, I have tried to look for every solution online and never saw anything about a cable, by looking now I can’t really find anything either, I found one which was about cable replacement but it’s a video that costs to get to watch
also I won’t be with the car too long as I’m going for a few months to another country and it’s very wet where I live so all I want to do is close it and then get it repaired when I get back home, simply don’t have the time to do repair now, just need it closed

Thats funny i found this right away i said for you to go and check the video on YOUTUBE you need put ithis in the search box in youtube --Mercedes W220 S500 2002 sunroof stuck open . I t said to find a crank handle in your glove box or in the tool kit take a look for it then take a look at the overhead console above your head you will see it has a left and right parts with lots of holes in them -you remove the left one with a plastic tool so you dont damage anything then where the part came from it will reveal a hole,, put thye crank handel up in to it and turn to close or open the sunroof . It might be hard to turn. .Or use Gopogle search .

hi, the reason I put this page on the W212 part is because this is regarding a W212 2010 E-class
sorry for the confusion between the car that I own and the other one which is the one with the problem :/

also my problem is that I have done EXACTLY that on the e class and it’s STILL not moving

Yes I know but following the link, post 2 https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post6471533 the additional docs may provide insight.

Didn’t realise this is a competition 😂😂
sorry for the late response, I have been looking a little on the webpage that was linked but having issues completely understanding it as I’m no mechanic

this seems to be a pretty complicated problem which sucks because the car is not going to be used for a decently long time meaning I’m not “really” willing to pay to fix it before I know it will be used
i was hoping it would be easier than this to at the very least understand.-.
I have tried to use the manual way but I seem to start agreeing with optimus that it is the wire
