This is my first Merc, so nothing previous to compare it to. So just accepting it as it is. It is a '16 with both front under seat bins. So far my main issue is that the digital manual does not seem to be available anywhere but in the car. I'd love to have that to read in the house and not while sitting in the driveway. I have noticed the ECO does stop at odd times, understanding that there are several conditions to be met for it to work. I have thought to myself, "This would be a perfect time for it to stop," and other times, "Why now?" Easy enough to turn off if it were to annoy me. Back to the manual, there is so much this car is capable of doing, I think it will take a long time to learn it all.

Lilbenz mentioned no console shifter. That was a big plus to me. I much prefer the steering column position and a clear console. I could do without ash trays. The cup holders are removable, but the ash tray doesn't seem to be. I'd like that to be a phone holding slot.

I'd like the cruise control to allow me to gain speed going down hills, rather than braking to keep me at the set speed. Maybe a compromise of allowing 5-7 mph above set speed. That's free momentum I'm giving up. On longer hills, I disengage c.c. and coast as fast as the car wants, then resume as I coast closer to the original set speed.

It's a joy to drive, and I may find I have preferences, but nothing I can't get used to. And I love the styling of the W212. Haven't been this enamoured since the W108/109s.

ditto, but just 2 pairs of sunglasses.
Second gripe, lane keep assist works, but isn’t useful. It vibrates the steering wheel as you’re already crossing the line, other vehicles I’ve driven will warn ahead of time. Also the vibrate is weak.
I have the Distronic Plus, which applies brakes and then steer when I cross the lane when I'm not supposed to (without giving turn signal). Did you mark the setting as sensitive vs standard?
Third gripe, ECO start-stop has to be turned off each time you start the car. It is annoying if you forget to turn it off and you’re performing parking maneuvers.
I don't put full pressure on the brakes, thus the vehicle keeps on running. I practiced at the lights, when the ECO is green (ready to turn off the car), I put negligible amount of pressure on the accelerator, which tricks the system into not stopping it.
Try it and see if that helps. and no one ever mentioned this, but I love the Eco Start/Stop. I used to do it manually, if I just came to a signal/intersection and I see I have to wait more than 30 seconds.

7 seconds of idling the engine costs same amount of gas to start the vehicle.

Fourth gripe, can’t turn off tiny ambient lighting under rear view mirror and rear some light.
I sincerely grew over it. It kind of helps finding the switches. You can always put a small electrical tape.

I have multi-contour driver seat with massage (passenger seat is normal one) and I have the bins.I don't have ventilated seats.

Yeah, Sport mode also have this Eco Mode enabled. On the other hand, the default Drive mode is E only, not S.

In newer cars that have:
ECO,
Comfort,
Sport
Sport+

Sport+ is the only one Eco S/S is turned off.
*Based on the loaners I had.

1) Floor mates are super thin and flimsy, no longer have the metal MB badge
2) Mini box left of the glove box is no longer there (it was a perfect place to keep my business cards)
3) Agree on the Eco on persistence (I ordered a software mod to address this)
4) No touchscreen, nav is still very cumbersome (but plus for voice control and also have a software mod coming to enable android auto/carplay)
5) Compartments under the front of the seats are way smaller
6) Annoying "double door" on the center console storage compartment
7) The vent slots on the sunroof shade were moved from the back to the front (makes it feel unnatural when driving with the sunroof tilted up from the rear)

I still love the car though. Here's my favorites pluses:
1) Dipping mirror is back!
2) Much more acceleration power than the W211
3) LED headlights
4) Integrated USB ports in center console

I'm sure I'll find more to love
2 - we have the slots in the glove compartment door to store some business cards/ gift cards in my case.
6 - I agree and I love the S-class lid/door.

5. I wish the infotainment system had a 6-disc changer instead of the single-disc changer it has. I have hundreds of mp3s on a thumb drive connected to the USB port in the console, but I often find mp3 sound quality to be worse than that of CDs. Maybe a misperception on my part.
I would like to learn about #3
I have 6-disc changer as I got the H&K Sound package..
If you're not the first owner, the first owner didn't wanted it may be.

I'm the 3rd owner and I missed:
1. Wheels - I upgraded easily
2. Steering wheel - Leather - I like the wood trim and was lucky enough to get one that matched my specs.
3. Rear split folding seat - this is a b* and I couldn't get it done - It was only 450$ option and the first owner didn't seem important I guess.

12. I was a bit disappointed to discover that there are differences between the installed options / features lists shown in DataMB.com and the VMI sheet provided by the dealer. I was a bit disappointed to find out that only the driver seat is ACTIVE MULTICONTOUR FRONT SEAT (as per VMI) instead of DYNAMICS SEAT,FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT (as per DataMB.com). Worth noting that they both share the same option code 432.
.
10. for reversing, you can make the right/passenger mirror tilt in reverse.
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...-settings.html

12. Is the Active seats that just the bottom part of the seat tilt down or up and the back part tilt front and back just to make your blood circulation easy in thighs and back while driving long distances (I saw this in 2020 A-class - called Seat Kinetics) or you have the massage but no active side bolster that makes the normal seat into a bucket style seat?

Hmmm, I have the H&K sound but no 6-disk changer. I kinda miss the 6-disk changer in the old W203. I assume it would be in the glove box if I had it?

I believe the 6CD was discontinued with later NTG versions - as in no 2016 for sure has one.

Also the above is correct about not being able to shift from park with a dead battery.

Neither of our 2015's have the multi-disk changer, either. We have a GLK with base Audio20 system and the E400 with the Harman Kardon system.

I will also agree that the sound quality of any mp3 lags noticeably behind a digital disk in the changer.

I have one little nit...

Sadie has the designo steering wheel. Despite the insane price, it's not heated. Would think that for nearly a grand they could also have made it heated.

Y96 -- designo Two-Tone Leather Steering Wheel -- $950

For me, I think my biggest gripe is the lack of an "off" position for the lights.
Sometimes I don't want to announce when I have unlocked my car while I'm approaching it or while I'm sitting in it.
Sometimes I don't want to shine my headlights, announcing to everyone that I'm leaving.
Why does Mercedes think they have a right to decide this for me?

Sometimes? if you know beforehand, you can turn off the convenience lights under settings (screen in front of you) and turn them back on once you get into your vehicle.

what lights are you referring to?

If you're talking about the exterior lights, I didn't know this can be disabled, lol.

Let's say I want to leave an evening gathering unannounced (for whatever personal reasons). As soon as I unlock the car, the DRLs and parking lights all light up and stay lit for 30 seconds or so. Then when I turn on the ignition, the headlights instantly turn on.

When I unlock the car, a quick flash of the parking lights might be unavoidable but at least I want to not have my activities fully illuminated and I should be able to drive off discretely without the full shine of the headlights announcing my movements.

true, I thought our headlight switch was like this:

when it is actually like this:

can you turn the light switch all the way to the left at <- P ->, use one of the other whichever is away from the paparazzi..

I think this is possible. I'll have to get into my vehicle to find these options. Its in the Odometer menu, scroll left to Car settings, convenience settings - where you have the seat belt tightening, how long the lights should stay on, interior lighting, alarm sound when lock or unlock etc are available here.

Yeah I even bought a pre-facelift light switch but the wiring is different. Didn't work
