Got my usual email re: this deal and once again I will pass on it. Did it once before and not worth it to me. Sure it is for many though.

Why so much hatred against the dealer? I get the map updates and is way higher than what they quoted you. I do it every 4 - 5 years so it is not that much / year.

You drive a Mercedes Benz so they will ask money for their services. It just amazes me how some members here post how they get very good deals for car failures after warranty is over. Must be because more than one dealer in the area. I have only one so no deals for me but I know what I bought so I know what the cost at the dealer is. I do what I can on the higher service items but some of them I cannot do so I take it in.

I don't think it's hate against the dealer vs the use of Google Maps or Waze which is free and has current traffic. Free beats paying for something especially when free is way better than what you pay for. Only advantage to paying for it is the slightly bigger screen, but phones these days are huge and I just use a dash mount for the phone and it's way better. I remember leaving to go to another location with someone, I used Google maps and it took me there the fastest way, the other person left at the same time as me but showed up a half hour late. The car navigation took him through a parade that was going on and several streets were closed which backed up a lot of traffic.
