Lightbulb Battery replacement

Have a 2015 E350 that I need to replace the main battery. I need to know if there is anything special I need to know. My concern is I will be replacing with a non Mercedes battery and also if I need to have a power source connected while I change the battery. Will I lose anything when i disconnect the battery ?

Thanks for any inputs....

I have a 2014 E350 and I replaced it with a genuine battery. Didn’t need to connect any trickle charger when replacing. Worse case senario, you lose synchronization of the windows

I have disconnected my battery many times without any other power source connected with no issues what so ever. Even the clock goes back to correct time when I re-connect the battery. I guess AUX battery keeps the clock on time.

Also, I would not connect just a charger of any kind without a battery connected at the same time. Chargers, as good as they may be, can output "dirty" power meaning it is not pure DC. This can do harm to some fine electrical parts.
