Fast Leak in Front Tire

Unfortunately I developed a fast leak on the right front today after a mid day commute back to the office ... almost flat at the end of day, I limped to a gas station to fill. May have lost or damaged the bead. 40 psi to 20 psi in 1/2 hr.

Then limped to Costco ... who will assess the situation tomorrow as a drop in at 8:00 AM. Maybe they can plug?

The least expensive tire Costco have is P Zero All Seasons Plus. Which has pretty good reviews on Tire Rack.

My question ... is it OK to put (2) such tires on the front of the car and have crap 50% worn - no name noisey tires on the rear?

Will it damage the 4Matic?

Do I need to buy (4) tires?

Which are the quietest ... because I do not like the Argus tires on it now.

Normally with 4matic you don't want too much variation in tread. You'll have to ask the store what they think is acceptable. I've heard 2/32's mentioned but not sure exactly what MB allows. If they're cheap no name tires, maybe find out when their next sale is because they always have a sale and get a set of 4 tires and sell the other 3 as used tires online. At least with tires at Costco, the next time you have a flat, you'd have a road hazard warranty.

I have not liked the road noise of the crap tires that were on the car since we bought it a year ago ...
What do E550 owners like?
For our SL500 it was always Michelin Pilot Sports.

2014 E550 4MATIC TUNED - Turbo Upgraded Stage 3
I've been using Conti DWS, its awesome and it is M+S Great for snow in Vancouver.
And certain area requires it in winter. Otherwise, you will get pulled over.

My other friend is on Michelin AS3

I had a blown rear tire last year, all other tires were down to 60% worn. So, i replaced whole set.
Don't want 4Matic tranny to have any issue. That's going to be a way bigger cost down to the road.

2014 E550-sold 😩
I stick with the Continentals for the winter months. ContIProContact. OEM tire. Very quiet and never have a traction problem with them in snow around the Chicago area. In the summer I use a high performance summer only tire.

Yes, it's OK.

Nope, it won't damage the 4Matic.

Costco advised that these Argus tires are crap ... all prone to sidewalk failure. The tires were manufactured Nov 2017 and had only 20,000 Km (12,000 miles) on them.

So I went for (4) Pirelli P Zero M+S. The best value tire Costco had for the E550.

Upgraded from a 3 to an 8 out of 10 tire. At a 7 price.
