Maybe it's a geographic thing but I'm from California and I'm a lawyer. My point of view is that when I bring my toys for service, especially at premium rates, I expect them to be treated with utmost respect and reverence. They are my toys, not the shop's. If revving is not a necessary function of diagnosis and repair, I will have you answer for it

These guys work on Mercedes every day for a living. They are car enthusiasts. They absolutely did no harm with what they did and anyone who would argue that point would be laughed at in any service center. I think they were simply astonished anyone would modify a Mercedes to sound like someones V8 Mustang modified in the backyard.

I'll be honest, IMO it's much ado about nothing. So they revved you car a couple times and made a couple of off handed remarks about your mod. What harm did they cause?
