M278 Cat delete and tune - experiences?
Picked up a 2014 E550 today and immediately have the mod bug.
The car already makes a very nice and deep rumble but I am looking for some more volume and power
I contacted eurocharged Canada who said they can offer (primary) cat delete and tune for about 3k cad. $800 for cat delete $2000 for tune. Expected gains are over 100whp, bringing the car to 475-500 who.
Are these figures accurate? I’ve seasched the forum and most members seem to be in this range with downpipe and tune. But I’m not sure what the difference between downpipe Vs primary cat delete on these cards.
Has anyone done cat delete and tune? I know the norm is downpipes, but they don’t seem to be very different than just a cat delete.
How is the smell? My c63 has headers and nearly straight pipe. The smell is absolutely horrible from behind the car. Definitely want to avoid the same situation
thanks in advance guys

I'd suggest you do just the tune before cutting out your cats. They are there for a reason. I know Eurocharged tune has significant gains with just the computer tune. I never pulled the trigger because I don't want to compromise the reliability, and I rarely have the opportunity to put my foot all the way into it as it is.

My Eurocharged tune is fantastic. I have not gone catless and I run real low 12's(12.4 through the resonators with no mufflers, 12.2 with straight through exhaust[cats only]) . Going catless and getting stage 2 tune very soon, should put me into the high 11's. Got a couple other things I'm looking into as well that I am pretty sure no one else is doing(one of them, for sure!), could drop me into the mid or even low 11's, but we'll see...
