The 2020 W205 is a fine car. The snobbery on this forum is humorous at times. The W212 you have shared quite a lot of parts in its time with the W204 which was objectively a worse car in basically every way than the W205. I wanted a 2016 W212 and that’s what I bought. But in the future sometime, I absolutely prefer something like a C43 over the new W213.

I say do it.
You are just wrong. First, it's not snobbery...Somewhat sadly, the 204 C-class was the best c-class of all time. Build quality, ride quality, interior noise and materials, and reliability far outweigh the 205 in all respects. The 205 has been plagued with recalls as well.

It absolutely is E vs C snobbery. I owned a W203 and two W204s. The W203 was superior to either of the W204s. The W205 had new model issues as they always do. But we are not talking about the OP buying a 2015 C300. He’s talking about a new 2020 C43. 5 years into a model they have the bugs worked out.

my comment to the OP is not to trade to C-class after E-class because he would regret it dearly after just a month or so doing it. New features mean nothing when you drive the car.

How many helping/advising post have you done Mr. littlebenz?
I read your posts and I did learn something. I learned you are a forum troll.

Your idea of helping someone is to call for them to see a neurologist for even considering a C class? Or calling the C class a joke of about MB? Don’t hurt yourself parachuting down off that decade old W212 horse you’re riding on.

OP to reiterate the W205 in facelift form is sorted. It’s a different era for MB. It’s not going to feel like the previous C or your current E. But that doesn’t mean it won’t be great.

Just to be clear he is looking to move up to a 2018, and not a new one. Still a used car. Carry on.

Yeah, the new S class (W222) styling is terrible, in my opinion. Very uninspired. The rear especially. The previous model (W221) is very very nice. Stands out, and screams "luxury car".

I would keep it unless you can get an e53. My wife had a 60k E300 loaner and it looked cheap. The c43 just has the same engine as the e450. Nice car but not sure itis worth the money especially new.
