Engine Seized @ 67k - What is this in my oil? Test included
However I don't see this being a real issue only but for the DPF as the higher ash from the increased anti wear ZDDP of a petrol spec .
All three oils perform equally for wear and sludge with respective improvements made by 229.52 to oxidative thickening and fuel economy .
But I can't see why this has happened with 2K old oil even if technically incorrect if it had done 15K , I'd understand .
After all some go to higher ZDDP and ditch the low saps when the dpf has been deleted .
However they don't know the lesser ZDDP low saps is offset by higher oil basestock groups and certainly will contain more detergents and dispersants to combat the extra soot of diesel .
I don't use MB oil in a MB , I use VW 504.00 507.00 which a one stop high quality petrol and diesel spec with improvements to anti wear and dpf kindness over 229.51 and 229.52 .
It's the staple diet of 3 cylinder petrol and diesels , biturbo , Dpf , NA , right up to V10 RS R8 .
Some VW 504.00 507.00 also carry MB229.51 and 229.52 like 5W30 Mobil 1 ESP Formula .
A claim against Liqui Moly isn't going to go anywhere where the wrong MB spec has been used .
