Just wanted to get your opinion. I found out last week that there is scuff/scratch in the front bumper. I took the car to the official Mercedes auto body and they have quoted $2550 to repaint such a small scratch. Apparently they have to repaint the entire bumper since it’s diamond white. Alternatively I asked a mobile repairer (who has some good reviews working on luxury cars) for a quote and he has come back with $220. He has promised that the colour will be perfectly matched. Do you guys have any suggestions or experience dealing with paint? See attached scratch.
Designo Diamond White Tricoat is a 3 stage color, meaning it was painted with a base coat a pearl coat then a tinted clear. A single stage paint will not match exactly. Someone may be able to get it close but it won't be exact. Guess it all depends on what you can tolerate. The Mercedes body shop will paint it with the proper process.
