Steering Wheel Change Issues

Hi All!

I currently have a 2014 E350 4-Matic with the classic leather sport wheel. The car does have lane departure assist, but no heated steering wheel. I have always wanted a wood wheel so I finally pulled the trigger and purchased one on eBay. I believe it came from a 2012 E550.

After removing the old wheel the new one fir perfectly. Even changed the contact plate from the existing one on my car to the wood wheel just to be safe. Airbag fit perfectly and everything connected nicely. However upon starting the car none of the buttons worked on the steering wheel. I then realized that my original wheel has five wires going into the connector and the wood wheel only has three. I’m assuming this is where the issue lies.

Does anybody know how to remedy this with the wood wheel I ordered or do I have to start over with another wood wheel with 5 “wires.”

Thanks!

My 2014 wood and leather wheel is a flat bottom like your original. Perhaps that is the difference with the newer style. I prefer the flat bottom look personally.
