trunk spoiler
I was washing the car today and noticed one end of the trunk spoiler is loose. How are the spoilers attached? Hoping I can somehow re-attach without removing the entire thing and then re-attaching...

The aftermarket spoilers (like JBSpeed's) are attached with double-sided, 3M tape. I have this one on my 2016.
I am not sure, but suspect the OEM spoilers are attached the same way.
If you can post a pic of the entire width of the spoiler from the rear, we might be able to tell which kind you have. The JBSpeed has a slight cutout on its bottom edge where it goes around the MB logo, as below. I've seen spoilers with a straight bottom edge. OEM?

Mine is loose on the ends also. I've lived with it so far, as it really isn't noticeable to anyone but me. I've considered trying to remove it, and apply new double sided tape. But I'm worried that I may damage the spoiler in the process.

Get Gorilla dual side clear tape and redo it. Available at Home Depot. If the old one is hard to remove - use dental floss.

If you google the part you will see that they are put on by 2 sided tape. You would have to remove the whole spoiler then clean the bottom and re-apply 3m good 2 sided tape.

The stock spoiler has no logo cut-out. Remove and reattach is the proper fix as has been said.

I had forgotten about the dental floss method. Should I use a detail spray, or something similar, as a lubricant on the dental floss, so it doesn't get all gummed up and stuck to the adhesive? Or does it work just fine dry?

I had the same issue on my 2015 E350. The dealer sent the car to a body shop to repair under warranty. Not uncommon, just double sided tape is used. I would also recommend fishing line in addition to dental floss, as floss can tear easily yet fishing line is also gentle on the paint.

I would not take the whole spoiler off as it will be extremely difficult to align it correctly. When using tape only at loose ends the alignment stays correct.

I had my spoiler come loose at ends while under warranty and the dealer ordered a new one. They had to paint it to the car color and they attached it with a double sided tape. Then, about 3 moths or so later the new one started to come loose at ends too. Instead of going back to the dealer for waste of time I bought strongest 3M 2-sided tape I could find and used it only at the ends for about 5-6" long area. It has stayed well since and this was many years ago.

Where did you get the 3M tape? And how did you select the tape with the "strongest" adhesive?

Than if you need lubricant/cleaner that's what WD40 is good for.
Just wash the trunk paint with alcohol before applying new tape
For my black car I ordered the wing from forum sponsor and it come with perfectly matched paint. I still used USA-made tape on it instead of the stuff from China. Holds 3rd year just fine.
Oh and btw, we have long topic about remote batteries going out fast. I bought my wite car 2 years ago and still did not replaced the batteries. We don't drive it every day though.

Thank you all for the replies! I have the stock spoiler. I think I can lift enough of the end of the spoiler up to get some double sided tape in there. We shall see...
