This is a W211, but shares similar beam patterns. I haven’t really been able to see a difference for countryside mode in the W166 Pre Facelift ILS+ but motorway gives you just a little bit more light on the road
Another happily illuminated customer. The TuneOBD unit arrived in just 9 days (I expected 21+), Vlad was helpful and responded to my questions via email overnight after I didn’t follow the instructions :-).
NOTE for 2014 E350 with COMAND and all my options … After the unit boots and shows the scripts, for me the << and >> keys selected the scripts and the OK button actually selected it. Not the * button as was in the instructions provided. And I had to go into my LIGHT settings and enable the ILS, also not in the instructions but understandable.
Finally, I am 100% satisfied with the results. I drove city, freeway and country roads at night and can see the differences. Now, I need the next module that dims the high beams of the cars coming toward me. :-)
I just bought a 2016 E400 sedan and had the ILS Plus coding as well, WOW what a difference! I also had the AMG menu added with engine data displayed on command screen, oil & water temp on dash, Fuel remaining in gallons added to miles per tank menu , I went from 5 to 7 modes on climate control airflow. Once i get the command firmware updated I'll get the coding for carplay and ECO stop . This feature will be able to be set to on or off and not revert back on with each start.
I doubt the dealership will do it. They told my CarPlay wasn't available for my car, yet I have it now. There is a W212 Facebook group that Amir Maldi manages. He did all the coding remotely via a laptop. See my comment in this thread to see what else he can do. I love all the new features he's added.

Let’s see. If dealership won’t do it then I will try coding.

Do you know if we lose warranty?
You need to really know what you're doing as far as coding goes!!!! I didn't buy from MB and didn't get an extended warranty as I work on cars so it wasn't something I purchased.

Haha. Yeah it’s bit of a gray area. I would just stay away from coding. Let’s see if dealer could do something for me if not then will upgrade the car in next few years.
i saw a tutorial on ILS encoding for the facelift W212's, codes had to be set and unset in a half dozen different modules. The process took about an hour with XEntry if you were going slow and careful and double checking each step as you went.

Reach out to Amir Maldi in this group, he KNOWS how to do it (and more) and very affordable!

Yeah I think I can do it but I have an extended warranty purchased until 2026. So don’t want to take a risk even if I successfully code it. What if they find out and it void my warranty.

Correct, you NEED to know what you are doing, it's a LOT of coding just for the lights.
If you have automatic high beam and ILS written on headlight fixture you have it. What we are talking about is the EURO ILS version coding. https://youtu.be/AdOEZ5QlExE
a 2020 C300 is not a W212 E class, which is what this section of the forum is about. I believe the 2017+ cars have a newer headlight design,. while the facelift W212 2014-2016 E's had 'first generation ILS'

I know. Mine is W205. But it’s the same headlights

you sure? the 2017+ W213 headlights have a lot more LED segments, which are individually controlled, while the 2014-2016 212 ILS light mechanically aims the headlight projector assembly to raise and lower it.

I have got 84 LEDs in one headlamp. That’s what it says on the lamp.
