Newbie with a w212 e250cdi with a p0087 code
Hi guys, new to the site and looking for some help. I have a 2013 w212 om651 e250, 50k full history. Keep getting p0087 code under hard acceleration and kickdown, eml comes on and car goes onto limp. If i turn carbon and off fault clears however eml stays until I clear it with scanner. Car had fuel filter 3k ago however it's a cross land and not an original. I have ordered a new merc filter and will arrive monday. Does anyone know of any issues with the high pressure pump on these engines? The cars getting 3bar of pressure on ignition, and goes to 400bar at idle, so low pressure pump in tank seems ok. Hard acceleration from a stand still all the way to redline in 3rd doesn't cause the issue, seems when I'm sitting at speed and kick down to overtake the issue comes to light. Any help would be really appreciated as I'm driving to italy in 3 weeks and my head is up my rear end to put it nicely. Thanks guys.

I think diesel section would give the subject better exposure, but that's just me.
Anyway, 400 bars = 6000 psi is good pressure at idle. My OM651 has about 5000 psi at idle, so I wonder if that would not indicate too high pressure?
Observe rail pressure during hard driving?
If new filter will not help, I would vote for new pressure regulator.
The code is historic.
