2009 initial build W212 E350 AMG PACK
Hi all,
I'm trying to work out if the engine in my w212 E350 is a CGI or not. Can anyone with CGI post a photo with the cover off for me to compare.
My engine number is 272 980 31 241057 and from research the 980 variant had direct injection. Can anyone confirm this?
My other question is if the AMG sports pack lowers or alters the Avantgarde suspension set up further?
Much appriciated

Interesting that it appears the 3.5L M272 variant was the only example of three displacements that uses direct injection. MB must have been experimenting with the technology at the time. The 2.5L and 3.0L variants use port injection according to the article below.

The Sport suspension is supposed to be 1" lower than stock.
Can't really tell until you fishhook the front bumper on a concrete parking stop anchor.

Code 951 SPORT-PACKAGE USA is what gives the 1" lower suspension (on the standard 677 spring suspension). The Code 772 AMG STYLING PACKAGE is just AMG styling parts.
Your left-hand profile does not say what MODEL YEAR your car is, so we cannot be more specific.

Code 677 AVANTGARDE/STANDARD SUSPENSION means you have the standard spring suspension typical of all W212s that don't have the airbag suspension. That's all it means.

I noticed it had 950 AMG Sport Package. I assume it’s all of these things combined including code 772

Direct injections is 276 and has very different front cover. Air filter on the side on 276 vs on top on 272.
You can also tell by coil packs.
In US, M276 came out as 2012MY so highly doubt you have DFI.

In the rest of the universe the 272 was fitted with dfi from a certain point onwards. I had wondered if mine was, as my 980 has been quoted as having a higher output.
