Using 45 aspect ratio at the front may be an issue because the spring base of the front suspension ( McPhearson Strut ) is very close to tire thread.

You probably can get away but very-very tight.
Spacers ? NO WAY for this purpose and that much protrusion expected. What kind of tire shop give such an insane idea ?
What is the wheel ET ? It should be ET 48 , if OEM.
Jack up 1 of ur front wheel. Use 2 wheel chokes on the raised wheel as to not allow it to spin or get someone to apply the brake.
Get plastercine https://barbarareid.ca/students-and-...ut-plasticine/
Place 4cm fat plastercine where the point of impact would be. Apply thin plastic on plastercine side which will be squeezed by suspension, so that plastercine wont stick to spring base
Lower tire to road height, brake still applied. Wait a few seconds.
Jack up again and see how much clearance you actually have at the moment from the impression on the plastercine.
I am assuming you are on 245/40-18.
Let us know the result.

You jack up the car only to get your hand clearance to measure the available gap of tire thread to spring base.
It will stay the same, car jack up or not. LOL.
Becareful yah.
l actually found a w212 using w213 rims and tyres which is 1 inch bigger in diameter, and as S-Prihadi said it is about 12.5-13mm closer to the car body, that car looks fine......
