Harsh 2-3 gear change
Hey guys,
I need some advice.
I own E200(2014). The car has been serviced before 3k km including transmission oil(with machine flush). There was a lot of debris in the pan, magnets, and the filter but no metal particles.
The issue that I am experiencing is some (harsh/jerky) 2-3 gear change like stepping on the brake or slight kick when the change occurs. It is different every time with different intensity. It is more noticeable during slow acceleration and diminishes the harder you accelerate(when change occurs at higher RPMs). Also, it is not present on a cold start. The first few changes after the cold start are smooth. The rest of the gears are also smooth and bearly noticeable regardless of the driving condition or temperature. It is only 2-3 that bugs me.
The car has the latest ECU and TCU software installed, no errors show in STAR.
What do you think the problem might be and should I be worried. It is not a big problem but I do like to resolve it. The local dealer suggests to do gear adaptation with STAR to see if it would resolve it.
Any more suggestions. I was thinking of disassembling and cleaning the EHS while changing the oil but I didn't do it
.
Regards!

I am going to the dealer for an adaptation this Friday. If it does not work I will be servicing the chain in a few months which will lead to transmission removal. I will check and clean whatever I can or send it to a service point for maintenance/repair if needed. I guess it would not cause any dmg if I drive it like that for the time being.
Cheers.

I left the car at the dealer and they did the adaptation. The Issue is bearly noticeable now. For how long, only time will tell. I will not bother anymore for the time being. However, I will change the filter and refresh the oil that drips from the pan at about 20k km. Will do some kind of partial flush given how much debris there was. God knows how they serviced the transmission for the past 290k kilometers...
Best Regards!
