'11 wagon power tailgate functionality

I'm thinking my powered tailgate isn't fully functional, and thought I'd ask the experts.

What works:
  • Hold the remote button and the tailgate will open
  • Pull the driver's door switch and the tailgate will open
  • Press the tailgate's close button and the tailgate will close
  • Press the tailgate's lock button and the tailgate will close, the doors will lock
  • Manually adjust open tailgate's height, hold the lock button two seconds, and it sets the open-to height appropriately
What doesn't work (and I'm not sure if it's supposed to):
  • Hold the remote button with the tailgate open, and it doesn't close. Neither the remote's tailgate button, nor its lock button
  • Tailgate closed, doors unlocked, manually pull the tailgate open latch... and manually pull it up. Doesn't power itself up
So, is this pilot error or is this working as designed?

Or, more to the point...

Can I close my tailgate with the remote?

Can I pull the latch and have it power open?

Thanks.

'11 E350 wagon here as well...
  • Pressing and holding trunk lid button, will power open the trunk lid
  • Once trunk lid is open, pressing and holding trunk lid button does nothing, beside audible "ding" sound
  • Pulling and releasing the exterior trunk lid handle, with lid closed, trunk lid power lifts
  • Pulling and holding the exterior trunk lid handle will let you manually lift the trunk lid

Thanks for this response. I don't have the pull-and-release-trunk-lid-handle-and-trunk-lid-power-lifts working.

I'll add it to my list of little things to chase down.
