W212 E400 E300 EDW Siren Retrofit

I bought a 2016 E400 only to discover the fanfare horn is used to lock/unlock the car. This was completely disappointing considering my old 2010 E350 had a siren. I thought I could deal with it, but after like 6 weeks, I couldn't take it anymore I dove into this retrofit. I later found out that Mercedes-Benz got rid of the Siren in US models due to issues with corrosion on the connectors, and Sirens going off continuously. The root causes are probably the mounting location coupled with holes in the fender weather shield, and people driving their cars through floods like boats. Either way I didn't care I wanted my siren feature back.

This wasn't that hard or expensive honestly. I spent $40 then probably another $80 on misc extra parts. If you have to pay somebody for the coding, this entire job shouldn't cost more than $200 (including the siren & coding costs). If you have ever installed an amp/sub in a vehicle, its about as difficult as that. I recorded most of the install, and will post the video on youtube in a few days after I chop it up.

Update:
Video of the install>>>>>.

Hope this helps anybody else considering this retrofit.

I considered this an unacceptable "Americanization" of Mercedes when they started this. I had to have the lock/unlock chirp turned on with SDS in my W203 - I believe it was called the Netherlands setting. My next Mercedes was a 2011 W204 and it used the horn.

Next time I'm in Ft Lauderdale, what say you go ahead and install this for me?
