Clearing "check fuel filter" message.
Hi all. I've had this message for a while now... I replaced the fuel filter, but the message persists. The fuel filter definitely needed to be changed, as I heard the fuel pump laboring on a long dive before replacing the filter... After putting in the new filter, the fuel pump became inaudible again.
Anyway, I thought simply replacing the filter would clear this message, but it has not. I went through the oil change / service message clearing menus (assyst plus?) and this didn't clear the message either.
Anyone know if there's a DIY way to do this? Or maybe it just thinks the fuel filter is still bad?
Thanks all,
Brendan

MB never made all car programs available to owners, so we can use only experience to figure out what programmes were thinking.
Most of the errors require some driving cycles before they become historic. For example MAF replacement took 7 restarts before CEL went off.
So if you know the filter is good, I would give it few cycles before worrying about forced code clearing.
On other hand MB -oriented scanners went from $1000 just few years ago to $49 for Autel at Walmart.
So there is no good excuse to not own 1.
