I've never used the number pad in either of my MBs (since 2001), except to input FM radio stations, on the rare ocassions when I listened to radio

When I was traveling mega miles for work, I would frequently call or receive calls from clients in the car, maybe 20-30 calls a day, used it all the time. Now I just call people in my phonebook, so not so necessary, it is the second button I push when I get in the car to change the radio station after the keyless go button. I would miss it though. Progress!

I've only used this to get to the dealer menu.

I only use it if I'm on a call and there's a menu tree that says to press a number for whatever. Then it's easier than trying to bring up the keyboard on the phone. Otherwise I just use google voice for dialing phone numbers.

I love them ,it's far easier to whatever you want to do thanks to those extra buttons . They say more buttons is more confusing .That's totally wrong , when you add more buttons you can easily access the features providing those buttons located logically .
Can you imagine you have only 1 button on your tv remote ?

We have a 2020 GLS with the dual iPad dash. While the numbers can come up in the phone app on the screen, it’s just not the same. I love the old school look and feel that goes back decades for a Mercedes Benz. It’s like that one feature that people look at when they’re in a MB. It’s got some history, and I think is a feature that separates it from most of the others. But, I’m also probably showing my age here a little bit too.
