Questions Re: vinyl care & long term ownership
1. Does anyone have a recommendation for product for caring for vinyl in the cars? Have used Lexol Vinylex for long time, but it is getting harder to find.
2. M-B gives out badges for cars with over 150,000 miles. So, why not badges for people who own their cars for a long time. I am over 11 years now, but not even at 50,000 miles.
3. Anybody at 10+ years of ownership of same M-B?

I don't have high hopes for W212 vinyl... as compared to prior MB-TEX that wore like iron. Then again doing dashes on 15-20 year models of that vintage was normal too due to cracking. I use 303 aerospace on vinyl surfaces to add UV protection, about all your doing with vinyl and keeping it clean.

yeah, I use 303 Aerospace on outdoor vinyl, such as the awning on my camper, but I don't think I'd want to use it on my seats.

Vinylex and 303 are very similar and much like Armor all.
all made from PDMS Poly-dimethylsiloxane a white milky solution.
used in many products for cars and home and business and .....
Heck it is a great water repellent for bricks and concrete.
Clean first with mild cleaner (something made for car interiors is great - See GRIOTS)
then dry
apply sparingly your protectant of choice 303 etc
Let rest for 5 mins or so
buff with clean Microfiber towel to set polymers.
Nothing really new in Detailing world just new manufacturers with good marketing.
