Map update for $75
Hello people of the internet lol,
From looking on the forums, every is overpaying for maps. I got my map license at https://codefastbuy.com
Note you'll need to download the maps onto a USB
I'm not associated with CodeFastBuy, but it worked fine. The license is vin specific and is lifetime, stop updating at the dealer Jesus.

I think I only turned on car navigation once to see if it works
The only time I would think to use car navigation is where cell signal is not available to run Waze or another app on the phone. Have not run into this issue yet.

I am on the same page: Waze 100%. It saved me from getting a ticked couple of times as a bonus.

i played with waze, and decided I preferred regular google maps, it has the same features as waze now anyways, speed traps, slowdowns, construction alerts that are crowdsourced.,,, anod now that I have android auto working, I'm getting said google maps on the car screen, controllable with the car's knob, win win!

Do not go with SD card map websites, unless you personally know the guy selling them. I can scammed by someone that gave me a 2018 map $100, after noticing that the map did not have any new construction (within the last 5 years). I decoded the file, and found it was a name re-write with an old database. The car would say 2018 but the acutally file was 2013. Went to the dealer and paid for a real one, (I can afford to). Had 95% of my area. Scamming website was https://mbnavupdate.com/. Avoid like the plague.

That said, I had reason last week to go to a High School football stadium I had never heard of before. I thought about using Andriod Auto and G-maps. Then decided instead to use voice command to search "POI by name." Comand found the address immediately and I was off and running. Plus, I had access to all the normal Comand features (MEDIA) that AA doesn't offer.
I'll get around to using Android Auto someday. I don't need to know about speed traps, as I generally don't speed anymore.
