Weird brake/tail lights issue
Im a quite satisfied driver of a W212 2014 for the last 3 years. Never had an issue till last week which Im facing a couple.
*A warning popped on the dash regarding "Right" brake light.
* a few hours later i get a "Right" tail light this time. I checked my back lights but I noticed that right side works fine but the left side.
* Also during the same week I noticed that my parking push button on the steering, I have to push it multiple times to engage park.
I've been to my local garage and the replaced the left tail lights (whole unit, since its LED) and they told me that I receive warnings on the right side cause both sides are connected (???).
But, on my way home I received again the same "Right" brake light warning. I thought it might be the battery but, they said its fine. For now they reset the warnings and advised me if it happens again to take it back.
I dont if and how are all these issues related. No issues though on the road.
What do you think?
Not a solution, I know... later Xentry scan reveal some faults in the rear SAM. This same car, likely needs an aux battery as there was a warning message when it was bought a few months ago, but hasn't reappeared. I haven't dug into further... you know, since its "working" for the moment.
You have to start with trouble codes. Do they point to a bad component? Are they indicating a CAN issue? Maybe a weak battery, known to cause some issues. Is it a one-off glitch?
