2014 E550 Brake Job

Hello Everyone, I have a 2014 E550 which has a stage two tunes. Recently I’ve noticed that when I brake there’s a vibration in the back and when I got the car used the tech told me he didn’t install Mercedes rotors on the back because their expensive so it’s aftermarket but I don’t know what brand.

I’ve been reading the forum but still can’t decide a lot of people are saying Zimmerman rotors are good, some say Brembo, some say Centric.

I also want good pads since the cars tuned and has a lot more power. Would prefer no brake dust but if they’re better brakes with the brake dust I wouldn’t mind.

Which ones would you guys recommend to go with?

You can't go wrong with OE, Zimmerman or Brembo. Generally OE is more expensive, it depends, you need to check. I'm seeing Zimmerman for ~$70 and OE $100 for rear rotors P/N: A 000 423 11 12

Your better off replacing the front pads, if your looking for more aggressive braking and that will come with more dust and not less. EBC, Hawk, Pagid have good offerings for higher performance pads. However there's a fine line, because some pads will require more heat input to get that higher braking potential.

If you can lock-up your brakes, then another consideration is a tire with more grip as that's usually the limiting factor on the street. If were talking about track days or auto-x, where your doing heavy braking repetitively, then factory-style pads will fade and that's a different story.

yeah I heard mixed reviews on the brembos but good on the Zimmerman, I just don’t want any warping like I have right now it’s super annoying. I don’t really plan on tracking the car but I just want good brake pads so I think street pads would be just fine. I’m more confused on the pads to be honest because there are so many different types and I’ve read mixed reviews on a lot so I’m still kind of confused on which pads I should go with

Try some rotors and pads from FCPEuro. They have a lifetime warranty so if your rotors or pads go bad, send them back. I think many with the E550 have had problems with their brakes, the E350s have been better, probably because not as many pistons. I think one person did that and stopped having problems, don't remember exactly what they bought though, but OEM seems to have the most problem with warping the aftermarket seems better.
