Have a 2015 E350 and unable to eject CDs. Player works normal But am unable to eject a CD to replace it with another disc. Seems like there are lots of threads about a stuck disc but unable to find anything about an inoperable eject button. Comments would be appreciated
gonna have to pull the head unit and disassemble it if you want that CD back. I've never done this with one of THESE, but I've had to do it with both home stereo and aftermarket car stereo gear in the past. lots of possible reasons, the CD spindle that goes in the hole and its matching clamp can get gummed up and stick to the disk, I've had CDs that had stamping splooge around the hole that would stick in a drive because it made the hole slightly too small. or it can fail due to a mechanical failure or excess wear in the drive mechanism. or the eject button can get gummed up and not even send the eject signal to the CD player's controller.
ps the mechanisms tend to be complicated and fragile inside. delicate tools like tweezers and watch screwdrivers are generally required. and the mechanism is often sandwiched between dense printed circuit boards
Thanks for the input....appreciated. I would go with the gummed up eject button. Note that there is no way I would attempt to pull the head unit and work on it....above my skill level and comfort zone. The Player works just fine ..I just wanted to change out the music. I last replaced alll the music about a year ago and everything was normal then. I hate it when things don't work right !
Depending on your comfort level simple process to remove radio and in turn faceplate to check button. Going further casing can also be removed to check drive if need be. Your call.
