by suspension, do you mean just the springs/shocks, or the whole nine yards with control arms and anti-sway bars and stuff ? do you have airmatic or conventional?

without looking up part numbers, I'd hazard the REAR suspension is pretty much the same, but the front may have some differences. DO note, Mercedes matches spring rates and spacer pads to the actual weight of the car with the options as shipped. springs and shocks come in several different flavors on the world market, with comfort, sport, high ground clearance/rough road options, but in the USA, I believe all E550's are 'sport'

From what I have seen the parts are different, I wouldn't risk it.

Your best bet is to contact Bilstein, Ground-Control, Koni, KW, H&R, AST, etc... and see if they have offerings.... I don't think the E550 is popular enough, so best of luck.

If your goal is lowering.. then lowering springs are good enough. Unless you plan to track or auto-x, then coil-overs for a DD are overkill. Get a quality set of lowering springs and matching dampers.

if you have awd the lowering springs are the only option besides KW V3s...at $2,500. i did the lowering springs but need to get new struts. ill be go going with the bilstein B6's..more sportier than the B4's.

My E350/4matic is on vogtland lowering springs, handling is way better. for a perfect setup pair with Bilstein/b6 shocks.
