Chassis Similarities between years
Hey people, new guy here.. I searched around but could not get a full answer, maybe because the answer is so simple, yet.. I take my chance.
Did the underpinnings of the W212 changed over the years? or did it stay the same for the whole life of the chassis?
Mostly talking about suspension geometry, fuel tank shape, etc..
I ask this because I want to know if I can use a 2010 chassis to "develop" parts for a 2014 chassis.
Thanks

A definitive way to answer definitively is to surf WIS and check part numbers across two or three VIN numbers for several model years that you get from Cargurus.
WIS shows part number supercession history. If you see the same part number used from first year W212 to last year W212 the part is the same. This I think for you is your best case scenario.
If part numbers are different across model years, the degree of change may be negligible or it may mean total incompatibility. For these parts you need to dig deeper and read car reviews, owners manuals, MB promotional information and make phone calls to dealer service centers or Indy shops.

Someone may be able to give you a better answer, but one answer is that it depends on the part. The way to do this would be to get a copy of EPC and punch in the vin number of your 2010 model and also your 2014 model. See if the part numbers it spits out are the same. I say it depends on what it is because you have the M272 engine in the 2010 model and the M276 in the 2014 on the E350s. The 2014 was also the face lifted model and a bunch of other changes were part of that. You can get a knock off copy of EPC/WIS on eBay for under $10.

Thanks guys, I guess WIS it is.
I'm not worried too much on it being the exact same part, more like, hardcore changes..
example: some suspension arm.. maybe they changed like rubber compound and they change the part number, but the arm itself is the exact same shape and pickup points.
I bought a totaled 2010 for a project and when I was looking at parts and everything to rebuild it I kind of fell in love with the facelift.. so now I'm buying a 2014+, just want to know if I can carryover the stuff I did and still have to do on the 2010 with minimal downtime on the 2014+.. that way I can more or less enjoy the car in stock form before destroying it and having 2 totaled cars ...

EPC is the correct resource. I said WIS in an earlier post, because in my mind I see them as closely related.
