do you have an aux battery in the trunk, or inside the end of the dashboard ? What voltage is the main battery, what voltage is the aux battery? both /should/ be around 12.6V with the vehicle off at rest.

Did you cross connect the terminals? Perhaps you purchased a completely flat battery.

an E350 should have a group 48 or 49 AGM (absorbed glass mat, also sometimes called VRLA or SLA) battery. These sizes are also known as H6 and H8 respectively. While I've seen conventional wet cell batteries shipped dry and uncharged (the acid is supplied in a bottle, the reseller is suppose dto fill the cells and charge the battery before putting it on the shelf). I've never seen an AGM that wasn't 70% or better charged from the factory.
again, whats the main battery voltage, and whats the aux battery voltage ?

What events lead to this? One day, you went to use the car and the battery appears dead, no dash lights, nothing? You then replace the main battery, I presume because there's also the auxiliary battery. Did you or someone check the old battery was dead?
Does anything work? Remote locks, radio, climate control, windows, etc.. with key turned to position I or II for all but the locks.
