Boost on e350?

I drive a w212 (2010) e350, I want to make a bit more power out of it, but I have a few questions...

1. How much boost could the 3.5 in my car handle? I've thought about doing a twin turbo build on it and putting either a single smaller ecoboost turbo from a Ford 3.5 ecoboost onto my car or putting both turbos from same said ecoboost onto my car but I want to know if anyone knows how much boost the block can handle stock?

2. How or where could I find a site to buy forged internals for my engine? Or could I even find any? Would I have to have them custom made? Because I've noticed it is Uber hard to find aftermarket parts to make power out of these engines because hardly anyone does it...

figured I'd find some good answers on here for this question!

yeah, good luck with that. you'd probably need to gut the whole engine management system and replace it to support the higher flow injection you'd need to get more power from the turbo (turbo == more pressure => more air, needs more fuel). then you could spend years tuning this mess to make it half as drivable as it is now.

trade your car in on a E550 and get 400HP and 443 lb-ft. Or a E63S and get 580HP and 590 lb-ft, that will get you down to ~ 3.6s 0-100kph vs the 6.8s stock M272 E350.

Yeah, basically no one does this. This is probably more common on Honda and Fords, but the best way to get more power out of a Mercedes is to trade it in for another model. You would probably have to spend several times more than going for a more powerful model would cost. The first step is that your 2010 model is the M272 which only did 268hp. Just by going up to the 2012 model, that was the direct injection M276 engine and that had 302hp. The cheapest way for more power might be a tune and that might be low cost but I don't think it will add too much power. The 2010 E550 gets you 382hp and the newer turbo engines for 2012+ gets you 402hp.

yeah, wanna play that game, buy something like this, THEN go ape.

We stopped at a rural microbrewery 20 miles from home for a early dinner in the sun this afternoon because this gourmet italian pizza foodtruck was going to be there, and we like their beer. a car *very* similar to this picture was parked right next to our outdoor table. apparently every Viper GTC was custom ordered just how you want it. after we'd been sitting there quite awhile, the owner fired it up and left, and OMG, it was like a 12 gauge shotgun went off at point blank when he started it, then we could hear him roarring off down the rural road for a couple miles. side pipe was point right at my wife's seat, oooops.

... and the E63S gets you up close to 600HP and 180 miles per hour and 11 second 1/4 miles.

You can tell the prices of the early W212s are down to a certain level now. I would expect these questions to become increasingly common.

That's probably still 4-5k for the engine and who knows about making it work right as it wasn't in the W212. Looks like there are cheaper ones out there but they don't come with the supercharger. Cheapest and easiest is to sell it and get a 2010 E550 or a 2012+ E550. The 2012+ gets you an extra 20 hp whereas the jump to a 2012+ E350 gets you an extra 34 hp.
