LED Headlight Conversion Questions
My wife's 2010 E350 is a creampuff with 32,000 miles on it. I rarely drive it but last week I drove it at night and the lights leave a lot to be desired. It has the standard halogen projector lights. I don't remember the lights being that bad but I've owned flashlights that put out more light than these. The bulbs were changed about 3-4 years ago with Silver Stars so I don't think they are going bad, just normally poor light output.
My question is, is there an LED upgrade that is effective and works well? I understand that LED bulbs work better with projector headlights. I heard that a resistor will need to be placed between the light and the connector to prevent warning lights and flickering.
Can anyone recommend a specific brand or company that has worked for them? I'd like to replace the low beams and keep the halogen high beams.

Some Led already had canbus. I used below LED on my 2013 E350 6/18/2019 and work fine without resistor or canbus.

before upgrading the bulbs, visually inspect them, are the front lenses yellowed or hazy? if so, brighter lamps will make MASSIVE glare. certain older Mercedes (<cough> W210 </cough>
were *notorious* for this, nearly every one you see on the road today has yellow hazy headlights.

I think the contrast between the HID lights of my Jaguar and the LED's of my Jeep (Truck-Lite 7x6 LED's) is making me think they aren't very bright. My wife doesn't drive much at night and she doesn't see any problem. I'd just like to make them better for the few times it goes out at night.

And did you need a Canbus decoder or resistor? It says that Mercedes will require one to prevent flickering.

You will be better off doing a HID upgrade than an LED one. Pierre pointed you to an excellent source - try a 5000K 35w kit for maximum light output without it being very yellow.
A factory LED system may outperform a factory HID system, but an aftermarket LED kit is not going to outperform an aftermarket HID kit. The contrast with LED might be greater giving the appearance of more light, but the opposite is true.
I've owned many HID and LED cars, and many aftermarket HID cars. You don't really want an aftermarket LED kit. It's just not 100% there yet optically.
