So guys,

I'm back here again.

Previously I wrote on here about a big oil leak and also flip/flopping between lean/rich error codes.

I fixed the codes with a new PCV valve and it turns out there is no leak. The engine is just consuming a nice bit of oil. Like 1.5 litres every 700 miles. That in itself isn't a massive problem. What's super annoying is that driving at low revs for extended periods or idling causes the cylinders to accumulate a bit of oil and causes misfire/limp mode.

I'm in the UK, but I believe a lot of these engines were sold in the USA - I am wondering has anybody had this issue resolved?

I'm not sure but I am fairly confident it is the valve train that is causing this. Not necessarily the pistons/rings, but it could be.

Car has 205k miles on it.

Are these engines easily sourced in the USA and at what cost in general?
