2015 W212 iPhone Connection
Hello, i have been reading countless threads in this forum among others to find out how to connect my iPhone in order to play music via cable.
I have a facelift 2015 W212 and there is a USB port and a media interface cable port but they do not recognise the iPhone.
My questions are:
1. Which option shall I be choosing from the menu if the iPhone is connected to the USB port (via Apple cable) or to the 30-pin port? The options from the menu are CD, Bluetooth, USB, Media and so on.
2. I have the MB media interface consumer cable (A0028272404), is this the right cable?
I hope someone can share their experience. Thank you.

IF hooked in the usb choose USB....
IF hooked into that mb cable choose Media....
I have same year and done it once or twice both ways.....
Control knob will skip songs for ya if need be.
I do not use phone often for this as my music is on a USB 128Gb memory stick thingy

I tried that but it won't recognise the phone, just charging only.
1. Yours is a facelifted 2015 W212.
2. Is yours iPhone 12?
3. Do i need to check the version of my media player?
4. What is the 30-pin cable that you are using? I have the MB one but not able to buy the Apple one (which i read is the correct cable.

Not sure on I-phone did use mine and wifes and they are different ones.
No idea on media player
Media cable has lightning connector.
I do not use phone for music
Did use wifes one time to hear her music. Plugged it in to USB - then selected USB for music on Cars radio and poof her music played and twisting the knob would skip to next song.
Then another time we used the media cable - then selected MEDIA in Cars radio and same thing it just worked.
I am not an apple geek nor do I keep music on my phone... heck I keep nothing on my phone since Work owns it.
My phone is connected vie BT for phone calls...
Sorry that is all I have to offer other then check Car's owner manual as it probably gives way better advice then I do.

Thank you again @ygmn for your time. What you have described is what I am after but unfortunately not happening in my case. Will keep trying to find out how.
W212 pre facelift is ones with 4 headlights and post facelift ones with two headlights (similar to W213).
