2012 w212 Potential Gearshift Nightmare!
Hi guys this is my first post and a bit of a desperate one. Took my e220 out this morning, did a few chores without any issues.
Fast forward 6/7 hours, get in my car and move the gearshift into drive and the car jolts like something's gone into the back of me!
Gift it into reverse and the car jolts backwards....
Then I decide to drive it to see what's happening. No gear change, the paddle shift shows changes on the display when moving up and down but no actual gear change.
This is my first Merc and I'm absolutely bricking it as to what might the issue be. Am I look at £100s or am I looking at £1000s go get this sorted.

Limp mode would be my first guess… get it scanned with appropriate scanner.
Underneath, check the trans mount and flex disc while engaging drive and reverse. Either being damaged allowing the trans to shift around more than normal.
