W212 stock subwoofer watts?

W212 stock subwoofer watts?
Does anyone know the how many watts the stock subwoofer is on the HK Logic 7 system (2010 E550 if it matters)? I'd like to replace it with something that has a little more oomph but wonder if it's possible to just reuse the existing amp that's back there. Or is it better to just suck it up and run a wire from the battery and install a powered sub?

As you will be unable to control the gain of your replacement subwoofer should you wire it to the existing amplifier I would suggest using an aftermarket amplifier with proper adjustable settings for your installation. You could even leave the stock subwoofer attached should you desire additional reinforcement.

the existing sub amp is also very equalized for the speaker and enclosure, and with a different speaker and enclosure would be sub-optimal.
I would open up the existing sub case, tap the 2 wires that go to the sub speaker and connect them to a jack installed somewhere convenient, and plug a cable to the 'speaker level' inputs of your external sub amp into that jack. Note this leaves the original sub fully connected and functional, you can then equalize and balance your external sub amp to achieve the sound balance you want.
JL Audio makes some really nice subs with integrated amplifiers that produce quite a bit of clean oooomf from a fairly small package.

Don't even bother hacking up the stock system. Just tap into signal and run an amp and sub. Get amazing, low-cost components from Skaraudio.com (RP1200.1 and a 12" SVR is enough to start dismantling your car with vibration) and study this guy's video
