2014 S212 drivers axle
Labor will be cheaper to swap in a new axle, but an OE axle I suspect is close to $1k vs a $150 boot kit. I would not put in an aftermarket axle and would get the original axle rebooted ASAP. The more you drive, the greater the chances of destroying the "good" OE axle as the joint loses grease and is exposed to contaminants.
Since the W212 is aging, and this site will probably start seeing more posts like this, especially from people who possess the wet-ware to work on their own stuff, get good at using car-part.com while keeping in mind that a large number of major components for any like vehicle make and generation are interchangeable between variants.
