Cluster trim issues

9. I would remove the trim to the left and the big trim piece to the right of the cluster first before doing this. It's just easier and less risky.
1. YOU MUST unclip the top first when removing and clip the top LAST when installing. It could otherwise break. It is extremely helpful to look at the part to be installed before removing the old one in order to locate where the clips are..
2. There are small plastic pin guides on the sides, I THINK they are there to prevent rattling/warping. . These break/bend easily - one of mine was broken inside a new MB box in new MB wrapping. You don't have broken guides still in the other pieces from when you removed the original trim, right?
3. The metal clips on the trim sometimes don't come off with the trim part. They aren't still in the slots while you are trying to install the new part (and clips), are they?
4. You are installing the new trim with the metal clips installed on the trim already, right?
If you are really stuck I'll see if I can dig out my old faded part and take photos.
