2011 E350 S212 maf sensor replacement question...
Hello all...I'm thinking of replacing my maf sensor as preventative maintenance as my vehicle is approaching 100k miles. The maf currently in the vehicle is the original part and I have noticed that the maf screen is dirty when I was doing an air filter change at a previous filter and oil service. The vehicle isn't throwing codes and doesn't have a CEL light on the dashboard. After researching posts about cleaning the maf with maf sensor cleaner, I noticed that some have encountered problems with their vehicles after spray cleaning the maf. I wanted to avoid possible detrimental effects and change out the maf with a new oem Bosch unit from FCP Euro. Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated from other members. TIA.

Mine had some film as well at 120k... I wouldn't replace it [MAF], just to replace it. I'd recommend replacing components of the PCV first... common wear items at 100k. Those will introduce excess oil vapor into the into the intake. The PCV includes the oil separator at the back on the engine on the passenger side and the breather on the front/top driver's side engine.
