Unidentifiable Rattle - Solved!
So, I was installing some T10/194 LED lamps in my doors, when something odd caught my eye. There was something white in the all-black interior back seat footwell of my 2013 E350 US model. Upon further examination, there appeared to be pistachio nuts in the vent of the RH rear footwell. These have been in the car since I bought it because the only passengers in back have been my dogs and I would never have given them un-shelled pistachio nuts; and, as far as I know, they have no means to obtain theese for themselves ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Obviously, a magnet was not going to be of help here and I didn't have a "grabber" tool. So, playing pistachio hockey in the vent, I eventually (and with great difficulty) fished out about 10 un-shelled nuts and a small plastic clear marble with my two middle fingers. Strangely, there were no "shells".
These were causing a rolling sound on sudden stops and general noises on rough roads, which I had attributed to the usual plastic squeaks.
Surely, you've see stories on the Internet where dealers have charged $600 to find and remove a baby rattle from under a seat, or 15 hours of labor to get a dead mouse from the inside of a dashboard. The lesson is, REALLY look through every inch of your car and glove for rattles before calling in help!

The second lesson being to transport your kids in the trunk, and not the back seat.
