Door Hinge Adjustment?

Has anyone adjusted the front doors on their W212? My wife was picking up our son at basketball practice in our 2010 E63, and due to 40-60 MPH winds today (thanks Kansas) the wind caught the door when he hopped into the car. On the front passenger side the back upper corner of the door is now about 1/8 in proud of the back door frame and there is a noticeable increase in wind noise, so obviously the hinge is slightly sprung or out of adjustment. There is no visible deformation or damage to the hinge or frame so I'm hoping it can be adjusted. Has anyone adjusted the front doors to improve their fit?

The Hinges got bent when they were overextended, you will need to replace them or bend them back, you will need to remove the door for this. when you say the back top is sticking out, you mean the whole top right? A picture would help.

^ I concur. They got whacked by the wind and deformed.

Before I go the nuclear option of new hinges is it even possible to adjust them on the W212? It’s the back side of the door, upper corner, and it’s really not enough to even photograph. Maybe 1/8 of an inch proud and not the entire upper portion of the door, really just the upper corner extending 3 in forward and down. It appears tweaked not totally sprung.

Maybe find a good body shop in your area and see whether they think it can be adjusted back to normal. I doubt you will get a proper answer here as I have never seen another thread concerning door fitment issues.

Last MB door I remember to adjust was on W124, so quite few years ago.
From what I remember, the design has big washers with threaded holes, who are hanging behind door pillar and have oversized holes for the door hinge bolts.
Meaning by loosening the bolts on the hinges, you should be able to move the hinges within the holes limit.
No guarantee W212 will have the same design, but good chances it has.
Than as usual, the topic is not worth much without pictures.

Bent.

The hinges may or may not be bent. The sheet metal under the hinges likely is bent. If the sheet metal is bent new hinges won’t help.

I would take it to a dealer or body shop and pay a diagnostic fee to find the issue. If it’s just hinges I would attempt DIY. If the body in white sheet metal is bent, it’s a job for a dealer or body shop.
