2010 Mercedes E350

Having issues with the upper radiator hose that connects into the thermostat. The thermostat was replaced by the previous owner days before I bought it. I replaced the hose last night and it still has the same problem. The car is fine until it hits around 85*C temperature on the dash and then it blows the upper radiator hose right off every time shooting coolant everywhere and then leaking out. The car does this while in motion and just sitting there, the only hose end to come off is this specific one that goes into the thermostat housing, all others are snug and have never came off. Does anyone have the link to buy another OEM clip for it?

When the hose first popped off

Oil change just got done days ago.

When you insert the radiator hose into the thermostat housing, the wire circlip needs to engage both tangs on the hose end (metal). In the 2nd and 3rd picture from top, see how the circlip (on the left) protrudes into the housing thru the slot it sits in... whereas the right does not. Either the circlip is not correctly orientated and/or is possibly bent. Take the circlip out, gently squeeze it together a bit and reinstall. Making sure that when installed both sides protrude into the housing opening.

Agree with bmwpowere36m, and I think someone took the circlip out once and put it back from the wrong side. Notice the flat section highlighted on the circlip and before bending anything, take it out and install it from the opposite side of the thermostat . Hopefully, you will see the clip protruding from both sides as suggested by bmwpowere36m3. If the protrusions are not even from both sides, go ahead and bend it to make it as symmetric as possible. The clip is the LOCK for the hose.

NOTE: I have never done this installation before, but from the pictures, it seems the housing has the flat section for circlip flat portion to sit properly when installed in the correct orientation> Below is a picture highlighting how the ends of the clip should sit on the housing. Hope it helps
