Questions regarding Bi-Xenon Projector Conversions compared to HID Conversions

Just got myself a 2013 E350 4matic! I've had a few Benz back in the days but moved away and went to BMW and Porsches. Have to say I'm glad to have another Benz in my life!

Anyways I've been reading around and found a few threads but seems like a lot of people are going with just HID kits. I was just curious if anyone's gone with a project retrofit? I think I saw a posting with people going with the E55 Projector kit and retrofitting it into the pre-face lift but didn't really see any installation, parts list or feedback on them. I noticed that the low beam side has a projector looking thing in it now but will that be fine with just the H7 HID Kit? Or will it eventually cause issues? High beam on the other hand Ill probably just keep it with a H7 White Halogen type bulb mainly to match just the color of the lows when used.

Any feedback would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It is my understanding from researching this topic for myself that LED's work best in reflector headlights, Xenons work better in projector headlights like ours, I have not done this conversion in my '12 with four H7's , I just replaced the bulbs with Osram 5000k H7's
my opinion is that the xenons in my '13 are better than the full LED in my son's 2016 with lighting package. YMMV. his DRL's are cooler.

Thanks for the response. I believe reading what you are stating as well. Im going to just keep H7 Halogen white style bulbs for the high beam and just go HID for lows. HIDs are brighter then LED's but I believe in time LED's will catch up but in the mean time I think HID's are probably the way to go. Was worried about the projector in the factory headlights but the more I look at it I think it should be fine.

I think Mud had some great posts on his install.

E350
I went with Morimoto LEDs to replace my humble halogen bulbs (2012 E350 BLUETEC). The low beams are a notable improvement. The high beams are kind of awful.

Yeah, I was afraid that HID on reflectors would be an issue. Maybe LED might be the way to go then... I would leave the High Beams alone as there is nothing wrong with the stock ones IMO.
