2016 e400 4MATIC sedan
C button in 2016 e400 sedan 4matic
So in the middle console area right around the control for the command system, there’s a “c” button which i can only assume means comfort mode. When I click it, it does nothing. How do I go about fixing that?

It acts as a "back" button, taking you from the current item on screen to the previous item or function.

The back button opposite that actually serves as the back button. Oddly enough, on my 2015, it is more clearly labeled (no pun intended) as CLR rather than C
