S212 seat cover replacement

Recently discovered the dreaded MB-tex rip while I was inspecting the front covers on the cylinder head - found a leak on the LH bank, too. Good way to start the weekend, eh?
Plenty of good comments from members here regarding the seat covers:

Big thanks to konigstiger for posting the WIS: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post6973169

It appears that the seat frame can remain installed whilst completing this jobber.
In other words, just take off the storage box and lift out the seat cushion and disconnect harnesses.
Looked kind of straight forward. Are there any tricks to look out for? Thanks

RGDS, roger

For me, unplugging the seat heater from the floor mounted control unit was the most difficult part, the seat bottom itself if I remember is six bolts, two on the storage box and four under the frame for the "U" brackets at the front, then slide forward out from under the backrest, but not too far, being careful of the heater wire.

Thanks.
I assume you mean that the disconnecting and loosening has to happen before sliding the lower seat? Which means working underneath the seat ?

No, just not a lot of slack in the wires, so slide it forward enough to get it out from under the back, but only like 4-5". Getting the little blue connector out was the hard part for me, also I forgot about removing the rear footwell light first

Yeah that connector is a pain to get disconnected. Make sure you use an OEM seat cover. I tried aftermarket and was not at all impressed.
