I randomly smell a burning oil smell in the cab. I read https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...g-smell-2.html, but didn't quite explain.
When I open the hood, don't smell anything. Doesn't happen all the time. Can happen while I'm driving, or at the end of my drive. Can't find any pattern.
Ideas? 2011 E350. I live in Florida.

Fix oil leak.

Check the cam plugs near the rear of the engine by firewall. They are prone to leak with age and oil will drip onto exhaust causing the smell.

I have exactly the same thing. It is the oil separator cover on the other side of the engine.

Check the vacuum pump on the driver's side head at the rear. It's a little tougher to change than the oil separator, but mine was leaking at about 130k miles.
