2014 - W212 - E400 ( M276.820, 3 liter Turbo) RWD not Hybrid
Engine sensors/device connectors

Gents,

BASED ON M276.820 3.0 Turbo, 333HP, E400, W212.065 Year 2014 Asian market , but it will share a lot similar connectors for many mercedes engines on the same production period, more so M276 3.5L and M278.

I spent a lot of time researching this stuff and best not to go to waste, so I am sharing.
The goal for me is simply able to read sensors/devices electrical parameters at the quality of OEM connectors connection , this is crucial when I actually need to do a test drive while needing
to read live data from the sensors/device itself.

Back Probing I don't enjoy it, no matter how careful one is , poking with mini needle/s can allow small entry hole/s at the wire or at the waterproof seal and don't expect a very good contact to
allow maximum amperage level of the connector/pin/terminal design can deliver. If you are unlucky and probe too deep with very fine needle, sometimes bad luck hit and the female terminal get opened up.
Some amperage can be so small, a clamp ON current clamp won't be the best choice, a DMM maybe a better choice. Once going the DMM route, the wire need to be cut..... and that is no joy there.

For non-prober, the list below will still be useful when you need new connector/s. Many connector bodies are not available in open market, so you must order from MB.
Connector is just the plastic body, so you need also to buy female terminals/pins and the silicone waterproof seal if yours already no more water-tight.
Female terminals and male pins and seal you can buy in open market.

1.2mm connector family

2.8mm family and 8mm family

MB EPC has this page, its is useful to ID the male pins and female terminals used on the connectors.
Some male and female pins Mercedes sold them as repair kit with short wire inlcluded.
Example for below SLK 2.8 . A000 540 38 05 is a that repair kit. ( SLK 2.8, Cable kit with Female and Male terminal 1.5mm cable ) . https://avto.pro/part-A0005403805-MERCEDES-759/

So we need to pay attention to is the description of the connector on the sensor/device page. For the case below, ignition coil uses 2.8 SLK family of male pin & female terminal. Yes, the brand of the connector plastic body, we won't know from EPC.

Very few connectors I manage to buy in open market. Mercedes bought so many of them, they locked it with the manufacturers Hirschmann and Kostal to not sell in open market at retail level 1 or 2 units.

Base on my list, for my engine, the most common connector is the : Hirschmann, SealStar 1.2mm. 3 pole. Key A . 6 connectors total. Camshaft position sensor, alone uses 4.
I happen to be able to get it from UK as a female and male connector kit complete with pins & seal. https://www.warwickts.com/4898/Hirsh...-Connector-Kit
The important part for me is to get the FEMALE side of the connector, which in the car it is the sensor/device side which MB does not sell.

With the FEMALE connector body ( OE call the body as MALE ,refering to the electrical male pins in them ) representing sensor/device side, I can do proper probing/troubleshooting.

So I made 2 variations. One is fixed wire set ( bottom one ) and the other at the top one is Intervention/Intercept type wire set,
because I can break the circuit connection anytime to read super low amperage, or what may come next as neccesity.

Below, simulation of use on camshaft position sensors.

Intake manifold absolute pressure sensor, MAP

Pressure sensor at aftercooler. I need to make one more wire set with longer wires for aftercooler work and clear away with ease from the dangerous cooling fan

My other sources is here ..........
Some more hard to find MB connectors and male/female pins : https://www.finjector.com/eng/search...ealstar&t=name
For male and female pins, Germany : https://www.automotive-connectors.co...omponents.html

The naming of MALE connector is actually following the electrical male pin in them, not by the connector body which we will think as FEMALE, see below.

Item 4 in my list.
This MALE connector will represent the sensor/device side of my pressure sensor at the airfilter box (2) which is key type B. https://www.finjector.com/eng/3_pole..._1_mm-p-737947
You can also buy the matching FEMALE connector key type B which is the same as MB A022 545 25 26 https://www.finjector.com/eng/3_pole...emale-p-737911

The MALE connector for Item 11 and 14 in my list, Fuel Injector & Boost Transducer & Thermostat heater
MALE connector, 2 pole Key type A https://www.finjector.com/eng/2_pole..._1_mm-p-737950
FEMALE connector, the matching one you must buy from Mercedes , item 11 and 14 difference is only the color of the inner plastic..... LOL. The key type is the same.

Below is non-dedicated 1.2 MLK family test wire set, so without connector body. Fixed type and intervention/intercept type.

I bought this https://www.aeswave.com/54-Piece-Aut...Kit-p9606.html from AESWAVE, but not suitable for MB wiring. Also the fat bulging finger grip is hampering proper depth penetration and eat up space in a 3 pole connector test.
So I best make my own test wire using 100% compatible male and female pins.

For those who wants to open up a Hirscmann connector to repair or whatever, find below how the connector body locks the female terminal.

FOR CONNECTOR BODY USE :
You can buy male pin or female terminals MLK and MLK ELA, but never MLK USC type.... USC type won't lock at the connector, the latch/shoulder is different. Below are all 1.2mm family and MLK family.

MLK ELA allows easier wire seal crimping, but MLK is okey too

My special order connectors body and the male/female pins has not arrive yet. The 2 table of various sensors connectors, I ordered all of them.

Below is a size comparison of the male pins and female terminals of 1.2 MLK (1.2mm), SLK2.8 (2.8mm) and LSK8 (8mm) . The millimeters reference are the MALE pin's blade width.

Will update when MB Indonesia send me my other connectors................

PS, if you want to know various connectors tips and trick to remove/de-pinning the male pin or female terminal, download this 35MB of gold. I cant upload exceeding 20MB.
